In the Hospital

During delivery I spiked a temperature which made Wyatt spike a fever as well as bring his heart rate up to the 190′s! Therefore he stayed in the ICU for 48 hours. Thankfully, he was still allowed to have visitors! We were so blessed with all of you who came to visit but unfortunately it takes too long to upload all of the pictures!

"Man guys! It's really bright here! I think I liked my last home better!""And here Wyatt we'll learn about..." "What? I have to learn something? Mom so didn't tell me that then when we bought this present!"

Wyatt loved hanging out with his Mamaw! Sadly the camera battery died when Papaw visited!

Mommom and Grandpa Bob very excited to finally meet Wyatt!

June 6, 2011

After a very long start, a horrible middle, and the longest and painful end (at least for me) Wyatt Andrew Sampson arrived Monday, June 6, 2011 at 8:54pm he was 7lb 7oz and 21 1/2 in long. However, that half of an inch was from his rediculously HUGE cone head! I’m glad to say it is gone now!

Headed to labor and delivery!

A pretty intense moment!

Our First Family Picture! Jeff was adorable with Wyatt from the start!Aunt Jessica was our substitute coach incase Jeff needed one! She was awesome!

Last night, Jeffrey and I experienced our first real tornado threat since getting married! After we had our steak dinner on the patio (while watching the storm roll in) Jeff returned to the garage to make room for the truck. Together we went back and forth between watching the radar to watching the storm on the patio. A very loud and close sounding crack of lightening sent me running and giggling inside! At that point we decided it was time to close the windows and get the bathroom ready! With blankets and pillows in the bathtub and Ellie’s blanket and food nearby we hung out in the very hot bathroom until the hail stopped! With the truck in the garage and the Honda pulled up as close as possible to the house we were able to dodge car damage. One window screen has a hole in it and the siding has some damage. Not bad at all! But even more importantly…I didn’t go into labor, that would’ve been exciting!

The storm cloud just above the tree line on the left. It was amazing how fast the clouds were moving!

Waiting in the bathroom! It looks hot in there! The largest hail pieces on our side of town. The largest hail pieces on our side of town.

6 More Days!!!!

There are only 6 more days before Wyatt’s due date! I think both Jeffrey and I are passed the point of not believe this could be real to just wanting it over! Sadly, at our doctor’s appointment yesterday we discovered that I am still only 1 cm, which means nothing has happened in the last week. So unfortunately the doctor wanted up us to set up a date to induce. We are scheduled to go to the hospital Sunday June 5 at 3pm. That would mean Wyatt would probably come some time on June 6. I really don’t want to induce so if you have been remembering us in your prayers it’d be great if you could pray that Wyatt would come before the induction date! I’ll continue to keep you posted!

39 Weeks!

Signs of Spring!

I love Spring! In Ohio you really have to cherish the few days of real Spring weather, it changes so much! My Mil loves to pass on flower transplants and I love to receive them because their free! A couple years ago she gave me some Iris starts and just last Spring I planted them. I’m not sure if that’s the right time to plant them but I guess it worked because they are beautiful this year!

The first bloom of the year!

Preparing Ellie!

With the arrival of Wyatt soon we decided maybe it would be a good idea to get rid of the Ellie hair in the house! Therefore, while Ellie was being groomed I went nuts cleaning carpets and vacuuming the car! She looks so different when she’s shaved but she sure does act like the same dog!

Before the haircut.

During the haircut. It looks so empty without the furniture!

After the haircut! She looks so little!

Only 2 More Weeks? Yikes!

Well, only two more weeks! That is too much for me to comprehend! We had quite an eventful doctor’s appointment today! She was having a hard time finding Wyatt’s heartbeat, which was a little unnerving! But then she finally found it, high on my stomach. She looked concerned and I knew it was because she was worried he had turned! We all know what that means…C-section!!! However, his heartbeat was in the 140′s so that’s good and I’m 1 cm dilated. She said she wanted to do an ultrasound to figure out for sure what position he was in. While we got ready to move to another room Jeffrey and I discussed a possible C-section. He didn’t seem to be too bothered by the idea and I told him I really just want Wyatt out, naturally or not! Well, when she started the ultrasound the first thing she saw was his head down! So, Wyatt sounds like he might be an ornery one who likes to keep his parents on their toes! Aren’t we blessed? :) YES!

Baby Shower Bash!

April 16th was Wyatt’s last baby shower and boy did it end with a bang! I wanted to post this earlier but I didn’t have the pictures. So many family and friends showed up to shower us with their love and support! It was a lot of fun! My mom did a great job organizing and preparing all the food with the help of Jess and her HS girls! Gretchen (with the help of Charlie) wrote a beautiful letter/devotional that I will cherish forever! She even made me cry, but I guess that’s not that hard these days!

Gretchen reading the letter. Notice how cute Eli couldn't stand to not be with his mama!

Aunt Darlene enjoying some of mom's delicious food! As usual, she made a TON!

There were a bunch of kids who came! Notice baby Isaac putting the moves on baby Abigail and Abey Baby trying to escape!

Not too often am I in the mood to make dinner. So when I actually am and it turns out nice I get really excited about it! I love grilling but always run out of ideas but this winter I found a cheap cook book that’s all about grilling! I have tried a ton of recipes from it and so far there was only one recipe Jeffrey nixed! Cooking is so much more fun when you enjoy it!

I've really been trying to replace baked potatoes with sweet potatoes!

These were so good and we had cold watermellon with it! Yumm!

4 weeks to go!!!

Today I am officially 36 weeks so that means I only have 4 more weeks until Wyatt is supposed to arrive! Yikes! That doesn’t sound very long! Yesterday, we had an OBGYN appointment where we learned that Wyatt is about 6lbs and is head down! Yeah!!! As a new mom every little hurtle is a celebration! We now start our weekly appointments to make sure everything is looking good!

So we’re still trying to get ready mentally but physcially we’re there! We have a carseat, the cradle and pad, diapers, and a glider (it was very important to Jeffrey that he and Wyatt be able to “glide” together)! There are some other things I would like to get in order first but if he were to come soon we have the essentials! I’ll try to keep updating but for you facebookers we do plan on posting when we head to the hospital!

I'm getting pretty big but the stripes don't help very much:)
